1984 by George Orwell was written in 1948. It was written in a time where we had just defeated The Nazis in World War Two. Even though we won the war. Western Society was faced with the possibility of a totalitarian society, one where freedom of speech, the right to protest, or even disagree with the ruling government is prohibited. In 1984 Goerge Orwell depicts a dystopian society where everyday people like you and me, have no right to privacy, so like the ones subject to this type of authority, the numbers on the cover take on this forced transparency. Notice how the 8 appear to be behind everything almost observing the other numbers with no transparency. Which is all surrounded in the red which is intended to act as the sense of alarm and anxiety just from being apart of this society.

I think this remix does a good job at remaining simple and minimalist and if you know what the book is about can see what it’s meant to convey. To those who haven’t it displays an creative and identifiable design.
